Farsali 24k Rose Gold Elixir Review ✨

After months of watching tutorials of MUAs using this product and after seeing so many good reviews I was absolutely dying to get my hands on it so I decided to join the waiting list as this product goes out of stock so quickly! I was very lucky, I was only waiting about 2 weeks and I got an email to say it would be restocked in Europe so I headed straight to the website to buy it. I can honestly say  I'm delighted I bought it.

For anyone who might not know it's basically like an oil with tiny gold flexs in it. It can be used three ways, you can either use it as a primer, it can be mixed through your foundation or you can simply pat it over your foundation once it's applied.

For me I preferred to use it as a primer or pat it over my foundation because I have quite dry skin so I don't have any foundations that are really heavy coverage so when I mixed it through my foundation I found the coverage wasn't as good as it usually is. So I think this method might work better for someone with an oily skin type as their foundations would be more of a matte texture and more heavy coverage.

I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it, it was somewhere between €35 - €40 for the bottle and postage. Plus it didn't take very long to arrive, it arrived after about 10 - 14 days. Although the bottle isn't very big, I think it's brilliant value for your money. You don't need much product at all, it's very long lasting and it is such good quality.

I find its give a lovely glowy look to my foundation and when I use it as a primer I think my makeup sits so much better on my skin.

All round I think it's a great product and It is definitely  going to be one of my holy grail products!! I will warn you though I only use 3 drops for both methods, I just put the 3 drops in the palm of my hand, rub my hands together and apply. The first day I used it I underestimated its power and my face literally sparkled like the sun!

If you have tried it I'd love to know what you thought of it or if you have any different uses for it..

These are makeup looks I have created using the elixir

All my love,
SJL X

Sosu Lashes and Limited Edition Lash Case

Hello lovelies! This week I'm going to do the long awaited review of the Sosu Lashes I picked up and her new limited edition lash case. I've been trying out these lashes for months now and if you follow me on Instagram i'm sure you'll know they've made a few appearances there. I was a little late to catch on to the Sosueme trend, I actually didn't even try out her lashes until she released her 'Primark Exclusive' range and even then I only bought one pair in case I didn't like them.  I've never been much of a false lash person for the simple fact that I could not apply them, I literally could NOT do it. I either ended up with the lash stuck pretty much everywhere it shouldn't have been or couldn't get them to stick at all. The only false lashes I could apply myself were the Primark individual lashes so when I bought a pair of her 'Belle' lashes from Primark I wasn't very hopeful but I still wanted to see what all the hype...

Self Love...

In light of it being World Mental Health Awareness Day (October 10th) I wanted touch on one subject in particular that I have been trying to teach myself in recent months: SELF LOVE! In the past few years I have personally struggled with depression and anxiety and in order to help myself cope I use various coping mechanisms that I have picked up during the years. Over time I worked out what made me feel better and what triggered my anxiety so I was more capable of handling a problem should it arise but I wasn’t always able to do this on my own. I picked up several coping mechanisms through mindfulness groups and counselling, if those services weren’t available to me it would have been a lot harder for me to understand what exactly was happening within myself. One thing that you will always hear about in relation to mental health awareness will be self love. Self love is a very important part of the process in making yourself feel better or more able to cope. This was a concept...

Skincare - The Acids

Hello Lovelies! This week my blogpost is going to be based around skincare. If you read my Skincare 101 blog a couple of months ago you will know that I talked about cosmeceutical products, more specifically the differences between them and normal cosmetics. Cosmeceuticals are basically a mix of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. They often contain ‘active’ ingredients which can penetrate into the deep layers of the skin therefore they are more beneficial to your skin than normal cosmetics you may find in a pharmacy or supermarket. Among the long list of ‘active’ ingredients you may find in cosmeceuticals, the word acid may come up quite frequently. Cosmeceuticals can contain one or more acid at a time such as glycolic acid, lactic acid or azelaic acid and so on. These are all ‘active’ ingredients as they penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and they all have different uses and benefits for different skin types. Products from brands such as Image Skincare, Nip and F...
