Sosu Lashes and Limited Edition Lash Case

Hello lovelies! This week I'm going to do the long awaited review of the Sosu Lashes I picked up and her new limited edition lash case. I've been trying out these lashes for months now and if you follow me on Instagram i'm sure you'll know they've made a few appearances there. I was a little late to catch on to the Sosueme trend, I actually didn't even try out her lashes until she released her 'Primark Exclusive' range and even then I only bought one pair in case I didn't like them.

I've never been much of a false lash person for the simple fact that I could not apply them, I literally could NOT do it. I either ended up with the lash stuck pretty much everywhere it shouldn't have been or couldn't get them to stick at all. The only false lashes I could apply myself were the Primark individual lashes so when I bought a pair of her 'Belle' lashes from Primark I wasn't very hopeful but I still wanted to see what all the hype was about. Well ladies, now I understand...

I firstly bought the 'Belle' lashes in Primark and after wearing them only once and surprisingly getting on well with them I picked up two more pairs, 'Carla' and 'Sophia', in my local pharmacy. To my surprise they were actually easy enough to apply as they were very bendable and I didn't have to cut any of them to size for my eyes which I usually have to do. That's one thing I loved about all of the lashes, they were all a perfect length to go right from the inner to outer corner of my eye. It may seem like a very small thing but I feel it makes them look more believable and natural when on. Obviously this might not be the case for everyone but if you have to snip a bit off, it's no harm.

'Belle' - I LOVE these lashes! Words literally cannot describe! For 6 euro, they are amazing. I like these ones for night and day looks as they give a really nice full look to your lashes. They have a very durable thick black band, I have worn these lashes atleast 15 times i'd say! Once I take them off I just peel off any glue remaining on them and put them in my lash case, they are like good as new! Because they have a black band though I would usually apply a thin line of eyeliner along my upper lash line before I apply them to help them blend in. These are available in all Primark stores.

'Carla' -  Again I would wear these lashes with a night or day look. They don't give as full a look as the 'Belle' lashes but they are super long which compensates for that! These have a black band as well but it's not as thick as the band on the 'Belle' lashes. These were 5.95 in my local pharmacy. I have worn these lashes about 8 or 9 times now and they are still perfect as well. I can wear these with or without eyeliner as the band is super thin but still durable. I love this style, I think they're kind of quirky. So affordable and they wear so well. I forget I'm even wearing them when they're on because they sit so well.

'Sophia' - I've actually had two pairs of these lashes because I ruined the first pair I bought by an accident and I loved them so much I needed to by another pair. These lashes have an invisible lash line which I think is so cool and it means you don't have to wear any eyeliner with them. These I would only use for day looks as they are a very natural style. They are still really long which I love but they are very delicate to look at so they're perfect when you don't want a 'false lash' look. Again I've worn these about 8 times and still perfect!  These were 5.95 as well so you really can't go wrong!

Rose Gold Limited Edition Lash Case - This is probably one of my favourite things that I own. It's so handy and it looks absolutely stunning. It can hold 3 pairs of lashes and it even has a little mirror on the inside so you can apply your lashes on the go. If you've been following me for a while you will know that I am obsessed with rose gold so for me this is a total dream! It's the perfect size to keep in your handbag if you wanted and of course it keeps your lashes totally safe so it's a winner in my book. I think this only cost about 10 euro as well so it is a total bargain and it looks much more expensive!

Over all I'm now a total Sosueme fan! I even follow her on snapchat! I also did a review of her highlighter palette a few weeks ago so if you haven't already read it, go do it! She's such a lovely woman and a total Irish Girl Boss, what's not to love?!

Let me know if you've tried out any of Sosu's products and what you thought of them, I'd love to know! If you have any opinions on her contour palette let me know as I'm seriously considering buying it. I hope you enjoyed this week's post lovelies and I will be back again next Wednesday with another post. Until then...

All my love,

SJL X

Self Love...

In light of it being World Mental Health Awareness Day (October 10th) I wanted touch on one subject in particular that I have been trying to teach myself in recent months: SELF LOVE! In the past few years I have personally struggled with depression and anxiety and in order to help myself cope I use various coping mechanisms that I have picked up during the years. Over time I worked out what made me feel better and what triggered my anxiety so I was more capable of handling a problem should it arise but I wasn’t always able to do this on my own. I picked up several coping mechanisms through mindfulness groups and counselling, if those services weren’t available to me it would have been a lot harder for me to understand what exactly was happening within myself. One thing that you will always hear about in relation to mental health awareness will be self love. Self love is a very important part of the process in making yourself feel better or more able to cope. This was a concept...

Basic Skincare Regime

Basic Skincare Regime As any other beauty specialist will tell you, a steady skincare regime is key to maintaining clear, healthy skin no matter what skin type you are. Your skin requires a certain amount of things on a daily basis to be able to stay at an optimum level. Certain things such as exercise, water intake and diet can benefit your skin, but a good skincare regime is key! Depending on your skin type, be it dry or oily etc., there will be certain ingredients and products that will be more suited to your skin type than another, so it is very important when you first decide to start a skincare regime that the first thing you do is to find out what skin type you have. Over the coming weeks I will be doing individual blogposts regarding each different skin type, each of their characteristics and which products/ingredients work best for each type. These blogposts will focus more on a “basic” skincare routine as I realise not everyone might want all the “add-ons” a...
