Sosu Highlighter Kit Review - Glow Baby Glow

Hello lovelies! I hope you are all well. Today I'm going to be doing a review of the Sosu Highlighter Kit by Suzanne Jackson. Let me start by saying I have the biggest girl crush ever on Suzanne herself, I literally love her! I follow her on nearly every type of social media and I love all the topics she talks about from her dogs to her beauty must haves! I only began using her products about two or three months ago and I haven't stopped buying since. Not only are they great products but they are created by an amazing girl boss as well, what's not to love?

Anyway down to the highlighter kit... It contains six iridescent shimmers but three of the powders are baked powders. I haven't actually used all the shades yet as two of them ( Candy crush and Melted gold) are too dark for me to use as a highlighter but I know they would be fabulous used as an eyeshadow! The ones I have used I have loved. I received my kit as a present but it retails for 29.95 and in my opinion it is worth it! The packaging is gorgeous, it's white with rose gold detailing and it has a mirror inside as well which always comes in handy.

All of the shades are really pigmented and glide onto the skin. I found them all really easy to apply and blend. I did think that the normal powders had more of a creamier texture in comparison to the baked powders. The baked powders have more a of matte feel I think. You definitely don't need to use too much of any of them when applying because a little goes a long way with these beauties. I really like the variety of colours in there as well, there's something for everyone. My two favourites, if I had to pick, would be 'Moon Sparkle' and 'Unicorn Dust'!

All in all, I'm delighted I got this kit and would definitely recommend it. Everyday I used it I got loads of compliments and questions about my highlighter and it kept me glowing all day. If you're someone who loves to glow then this is the kit for you! As I mentioned earlier I picked up some other Sosu products as well which I will be reviewing soon, I just want to make sure that I've used everything a couple of times before I do so I can give you all my thoughts.

Here are some looks I created using the highlighters, I apply it sparingly to my forehead, down along my nose, my cupids bow and my chin with a fan head brush. Then I use the MAC 168 brush to apply it along the top of my cheekbones towards the side of my eye.

'Moon Sparkle'

'Unicorn Dust'

'Shooting Star'

'Unicorn Dust'

'Peach Smoothie'

You can check out more of my looks using this kit on my Instagram if you would like!

Lots of love,

Sosu Lashes and Limited Edition Lash Case

Hello lovelies! This week I'm going to do the long awaited review of the Sosu Lashes I picked up and her new limited edition lash case. I've been trying out these lashes for months now and if you follow me on Instagram i'm sure you'll know they've made a few appearances there. I was a little late to catch on to the Sosueme trend, I actually didn't even try out her lashes until she released her 'Primark Exclusive' range and even then I only bought one pair in case I didn't like them.  I've never been much of a false lash person for the simple fact that I could not apply them, I literally could NOT do it. I either ended up with the lash stuck pretty much everywhere it shouldn't have been or couldn't get them to stick at all. The only false lashes I could apply myself were the Primark individual lashes so when I bought a pair of her 'Belle' lashes from Primark I wasn't very hopeful but I still wanted to see what all the hype...

Self Love...

In light of it being World Mental Health Awareness Day (October 10th) I wanted touch on one subject in particular that I have been trying to teach myself in recent months: SELF LOVE! In the past few years I have personally struggled with depression and anxiety and in order to help myself cope I use various coping mechanisms that I have picked up during the years. Over time I worked out what made me feel better and what triggered my anxiety so I was more capable of handling a problem should it arise but I wasn’t always able to do this on my own. I picked up several coping mechanisms through mindfulness groups and counselling, if those services weren’t available to me it would have been a lot harder for me to understand what exactly was happening within myself. One thing that you will always hear about in relation to mental health awareness will be self love. Self love is a very important part of the process in making yourself feel better or more able to cope. This was a concept...

Skincare - The Acids

Hello Lovelies! This week my blogpost is going to be based around skincare. If you read my Skincare 101 blog a couple of months ago you will know that I talked about cosmeceutical products, more specifically the differences between them and normal cosmetics. Cosmeceuticals are basically a mix of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. They often contain ‘active’ ingredients which can penetrate into the deep layers of the skin therefore they are more beneficial to your skin than normal cosmetics you may find in a pharmacy or supermarket. Among the long list of ‘active’ ingredients you may find in cosmeceuticals, the word acid may come up quite frequently. Cosmeceuticals can contain one or more acid at a time such as glycolic acid, lactic acid or azelaic acid and so on. These are all ‘active’ ingredients as they penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and they all have different uses and benefits for different skin types. Products from brands such as Image Skincare, Nip and F...
