Bellamianta Tinted Lotion Review

Hello lovelies! It's Wednesday again so of course I'm back! This week I wanted to talk about Bellamianta's Tinted Lotion as I have been using it recently. Last year when Ireland went Bellamianta crazy I obviously decided I had to buy a bottle. I barely knew anything about it, just that people were loving it, so when I visited my local pharmacy to pick up a bottle and saw they only had a tinted lotion I assumed that was all that was available. I picked up the bottle anyway alongside their tanning mitt to later see on a social media post a tonne of women saying that the lotion was horrible and their mousse was much better. Of course I was immediately disheartened and I waited the longest time before actually trying it out.

The reason I wanted to tell you this was because once I used this tan I ended up loving it and I nearly didn't use it just because of other peoples opinions. Always remember that when it comes to makeup, tan, clothing etc, just because something suits you doesn't mean it will suit everyone and vice versa. And with that being said, here is why I think you should give it a chance!

Bellamianta Self Tanning Tinted Lotion claims to be odour free, develop in 2-4 hours and wear off evenly. And I believe it does everything it says on the bottle. Being a redhead, I have very pale skin so it can be hard to find a tan that looks somewhat natural on my skin. I find a lot of tans just look orange on my skin and although I always prep accordingly before doing my tan and carry out the steps to maintain it, I've found it nearly impossible to find a tan that wears off evenly. After finding this tan, I will never go back!

As my tan prep I exfoliated and applied my daily body moisturiser the day before I applied it and then showered again right before application the next day to make sure there was no traces of moisturiser, deoderant, sweat etc on my body as this can cause the tan to apply unevenly. I then applied one coat of the tinted lotion using the Bellamianta tanning mitt. I usually always apply two coats of tan but I only did one first as I wanted to see how dark it would turn out. I then left it on overnight as I do with all tans, I just feel it gives me a better colour.

The next day I washed off the excess and I had a lovely golden colour. It was very natural looking which I loved but I wanted a darker tan as I knew I would be going out so I applied another coat after my shower. I did the same thing again, left it on overnight and washed it the previous day and then I applied my moisturiser. The colour was so even I was actually amazed and even though it was dark compared to my pale skin, it had a very natural look to it I felt.

This tan is also literally the only tan I have ever used that had an even wear off besides a spray tan. I always end up looking patchy when my tan is wearing off usually but not with this one. I always apply tan to my face as well when I'm tanning even though it usually causes me to get one or two little spots but this tan didn't make my face breakout at all. Plus the Bellamianta tanning mitt is a huge help as it's so soft and applies the product perfectly. It's also quite thick and durable, it has lasted me way longer than most tanning mitts.

This is my new tanning favourite for sure! It doesn't have a horrible 'tan' smell, it didn't ruin my bedclothes, it wore off even and was a gorgeous even colour! It also has a slight colour to it straight away when you apply it so you can see where you've tanned.

Let me know if you've tried out any of Bellamianta's products and what you thought of them! I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and I will be back next Wednesday!

All my love,

SJL X

Sosu Lashes and Limited Edition Lash Case

Hello lovelies! This week I'm going to do the long awaited review of the Sosu Lashes I picked up and her new limited edition lash case. I've been trying out these lashes for months now and if you follow me on Instagram i'm sure you'll know they've made a few appearances there. I was a little late to catch on to the Sosueme trend, I actually didn't even try out her lashes until she released her 'Primark Exclusive' range and even then I only bought one pair in case I didn't like them.  I've never been much of a false lash person for the simple fact that I could not apply them, I literally could NOT do it. I either ended up with the lash stuck pretty much everywhere it shouldn't have been or couldn't get them to stick at all. The only false lashes I could apply myself were the Primark individual lashes so when I bought a pair of her 'Belle' lashes from Primark I wasn't very hopeful but I still wanted to see what all the hype...

Self Love...

In light of it being World Mental Health Awareness Day (October 10th) I wanted touch on one subject in particular that I have been trying to teach myself in recent months: SELF LOVE! In the past few years I have personally struggled with depression and anxiety and in order to help myself cope I use various coping mechanisms that I have picked up during the years. Over time I worked out what made me feel better and what triggered my anxiety so I was more capable of handling a problem should it arise but I wasn’t always able to do this on my own. I picked up several coping mechanisms through mindfulness groups and counselling, if those services weren’t available to me it would have been a lot harder for me to understand what exactly was happening within myself. One thing that you will always hear about in relation to mental health awareness will be self love. Self love is a very important part of the process in making yourself feel better or more able to cope. This was a concept...

Skincare - The Acids

Hello Lovelies! This week my blogpost is going to be based around skincare. If you read my Skincare 101 blog a couple of months ago you will know that I talked about cosmeceutical products, more specifically the differences between them and normal cosmetics. Cosmeceuticals are basically a mix of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. They often contain ‘active’ ingredients which can penetrate into the deep layers of the skin therefore they are more beneficial to your skin than normal cosmetics you may find in a pharmacy or supermarket. Among the long list of ‘active’ ingredients you may find in cosmeceuticals, the word acid may come up quite frequently. Cosmeceuticals can contain one or more acid at a time such as glycolic acid, lactic acid or azelaic acid and so on. These are all ‘active’ ingredients as they penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and they all have different uses and benefits for different skin types. Products from brands such as Image Skincare, Nip and F...
