Tierra Mia Products

Hello Lovelies! It's Wednesday again! This week I wanted to tell you all about some products I have started using very recently. They are from a company called Tierra Mia Organics which is based in California. It is a family owned and run business. Sylvia works alongside her daughter and son, Emily and Phillip. Their products are all completely natural and handmade by them in small batches. All of their products contain Raw Goats Milk from goats that the family are raising and they even harvest their own honey for all the products containing it.

You may ask why goat's milk? Well goats milk actually contains several vitamins such as vitamin A, B, C and D which are super beneficial to the skin and it also naturally contains an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (I spoke about these in my Skincare 101 blog) called Caprylic Acid which aids in cellular renewal. Goats milk also has a PH level similar to your skin's natural PH level ( Skins PH - 5.5 /Goats Milk PH -6 ) so it shouldn't irritate the skin and will help to keep it balanced.

Emily who is Chief of Marketing within the company got in contact with me and told me about their products and I was so intrigued about the concept behind using raw goats milk. And of course with skincare being my new craze I decided I had to try it! Emily was kind enough to do me up a little hamper of their products so I could try different parts of the range which I received last week and have been using since! I will be using these products in conjunction with some others over the following months so I wanted to show you what I got and give you some information about them!

Face and Body Creams - I received three little bottles of face and body cream, Citrus, Vanilla and Lavender! Firsty they smell divine, I usually don't even like the smell of lavender at all but I love it in this because it's really nice and subtle. They help with rosacea, dryness, psoriasis, rash, acne and hyper-pigmentation. This product is safe enough for you to actually eat, it's so natural. Fair enough it might not taste great but you can't say that about most stuff you use I bet.

The Emily Soap Face Bar - This is for Normal to Oily Skin types. This was made especially for people with skin like Emily as she has very sensitive skin. It won't irritate sensitive skin but will still help deeply cleanse your pores. I have been using this as a cleanser morning and night since I got it and I love it so far. It foams up really well and feels so silky on the skin. If you used any normal soap your skin would feel very tight afterwards as it would be stripped but this doesn't strip the skin at all. Definitely one of my favourites so far.

Almond Coffee Exfoliating Soap Bar - I got a little sample of this and I cannot wait to try it! I haven't gotten around to it yet but I'll let you all know once I do. This is supposed to exfoliate the skin alongside helping conditions such as hyper-pigmentation, acne, signs of aging, psoriasis.

Fresh Coconut Body Soap Bar -  I also got a sample of this, I will again let you know once I've tried it. I know it's going to smell divine because so far all their products do which to be honest I wasn't expecting! It also is beneficial to a range of problem skin conditions.

Gentle Daily Face Scrub - I love this! I've been mixing a little bit of it through the Emily Soap in the morning when I use it. Usually I would never advice to use a face scrub daily but this one is very gentle. All it contains is Pulverized Meals of Almond, Flaxseed, Walnut, Arabica Coffee, Chamomile, Raw Brown Sugar and Brewers Yeast. It gentles buffs away dead skin cells to help cellular renewal and aid in brightening the skin.

Original Face Cream - I saved the best for last! It helps oily skin, acne and sensitive skin. It helps to balance oily complexions and get rid of breakouts. I wish I could describe what it smells like because its gorgeous but I can't put my finger on it. It does feel like it has a rich consistency which initially seemed strange to me as it is for oily skin but I have been using it every night and while i did suffer with some spots initially as my skin was adjusting, my breakouts are starting to clear up. It hasn't made my skin oilier as you'd imagine a rich moisturiser would do. So far it's in my good books! I actually have a discount code ( SOPHIA ) for 20% off this product on the Tierra Mia Website!

All of these products are completely natural, handmade, sls free, paraben free, gluten free and made by an amazing family! I genuinely love their story! Once I've been using the products for longer I will do a full review of them but for now I'll just enjoy them! In the meantime you can check out Sylvia, Emily and Phillip's story alongside their gorgeous products on www.tierramiaorganics.com ! They don't ship their products outside the USA from their website so if you're in Ireland like me and want to get your hands on them they are available on www.iHerb.com and www.Vitacost.com which ship outside the US.

I have no obligation whatsoever to talk about these products, I just think the concept behind them is so cool and so far I've really liked what I've used. Like I said once I'm more familiar with them all I will do an in depth review. I hope you all have a great week and I will be back again next Wednesday as usual with another blog post, until then...

All my Love,

SJL X

Sosu Lashes and Limited Edition Lash Case

Hello lovelies! This week I'm going to do the long awaited review of the Sosu Lashes I picked up and her new limited edition lash case. I've been trying out these lashes for months now and if you follow me on Instagram i'm sure you'll know they've made a few appearances there. I was a little late to catch on to the Sosueme trend, I actually didn't even try out her lashes until she released her 'Primark Exclusive' range and even then I only bought one pair in case I didn't like them.  I've never been much of a false lash person for the simple fact that I could not apply them, I literally could NOT do it. I either ended up with the lash stuck pretty much everywhere it shouldn't have been or couldn't get them to stick at all. The only false lashes I could apply myself were the Primark individual lashes so when I bought a pair of her 'Belle' lashes from Primark I wasn't very hopeful but I still wanted to see what all the hype...

Self Love...

In light of it being World Mental Health Awareness Day (October 10th) I wanted touch on one subject in particular that I have been trying to teach myself in recent months: SELF LOVE! In the past few years I have personally struggled with depression and anxiety and in order to help myself cope I use various coping mechanisms that I have picked up during the years. Over time I worked out what made me feel better and what triggered my anxiety so I was more capable of handling a problem should it arise but I wasn’t always able to do this on my own. I picked up several coping mechanisms through mindfulness groups and counselling, if those services weren’t available to me it would have been a lot harder for me to understand what exactly was happening within myself. One thing that you will always hear about in relation to mental health awareness will be self love. Self love is a very important part of the process in making yourself feel better or more able to cope. This was a concept...

Skincare - The Acids

Hello Lovelies! This week my blogpost is going to be based around skincare. If you read my Skincare 101 blog a couple of months ago you will know that I talked about cosmeceutical products, more specifically the differences between them and normal cosmetics. Cosmeceuticals are basically a mix of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products. They often contain ‘active’ ingredients which can penetrate into the deep layers of the skin therefore they are more beneficial to your skin than normal cosmetics you may find in a pharmacy or supermarket. Among the long list of ‘active’ ingredients you may find in cosmeceuticals, the word acid may come up quite frequently. Cosmeceuticals can contain one or more acid at a time such as glycolic acid, lactic acid or azelaic acid and so on. These are all ‘active’ ingredients as they penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin and they all have different uses and benefits for different skin types. Products from brands such as Image Skincare, Nip and F...
